Set in the rolling Surrey countryside near Chipstead village, this 5.5km loop known locally as the 'Chipstead Rouleur' features sharp turns, a couple of sharp kickers and quick descents before the leg sapping finale each lap up White hill. Perfect for a small breakaway to hold off the peleton.

The poor man's Hanwell Champs Élysées. This course loops up and around what was the 1856 Central London District School at Hanwell. A regimented Victorian workhouse, where Charlie Chaplin spent some of his early years, facing regular harsh discipline from a Captain Hindrum, a retired Navy man, who gave the children from three to six hefty strokes with a four-foot cane... Bear this in mind should you think this is a painful course as the kicker up Cuckoo Avenue rolls around each lap, it could be worse...The kick is not too long, an attritional battle is expected, who will get away....

Located in the beautiful Parc Naturel Régional du Morvan (France). The climb is not too steep but certainly is long enough to rip it apart. A well deserved treat awaits you with the descent to Cussy-en-Morvan when you return to the small village of La Chaume where the fun starts all over again!

Distance - 24.32km Ascent - 196m Descent - 196m Laps: 14 Magic Road Code - xEffP6KC9lGM
Specifically built for racing, the Pembrey national cycling circuit is a new staple of Welsh cycling. Two major hairpins string out the group before taking on the small ramp that can string it out further before a chance to get back on at the back half of the lap with a slight downhill and straighter half before going back at it again.

Derbyshire's Chesterfield provides the playground for Mark's crit. The loop starts with a slight kick and fast down hill as we descend to the valley picking up speed passing over the dual carriage way and through a skate park and via a footbridge, just because we can. Passing the 1900’s banked cycle track in Queens Park, before heading up a sharp kick back to the start. The closing 300m uphill sprint should put the cat among the pidgins in the shadow of the ever present crooked church spire.

The Slovakia Ring was opened as a purpose built test track in 2009 and has played host to World Touring Car action since 2012. Conveniently located just 30km from Bratislava Airport, and 35km south east of the capital, the track was designed by Austrian architect Hans Roth. Featuring 14 turns, the Slovakia Ring ties together long radius corners with high speed straights. It's also being used for various cycling events like criterium racing and long distance endurance events.

We have courses a selection of crits from Mat, Leon, Nick, Bers, Ben, Mark, Jan and Marian of RR. The remit for this series was a new crit course ideally just a few KM from the riders' home, or holiday home (in some cases).... On average about 24km with 200 - 400m ascent making them a perfect start to the weekend on Friday evening, ie 35 - 45 minutes of frenzy. Check them out all looking very nice.
GC Results below, and series details below them.....

Individual Competitions

  • Open Category (eveyone)
  • Over 45s (well those born before 1978)

All riders will automatically be counted in the open category competition. Unless we are already aware from previous series, for other categories you may need to notify us if we can't get age info from RGT or RGTDB. Please contact Nick Greenhalgh

Team Competition

A separate competition also exists for Teams. Simply contact Nick Greenhalgh to enter your team consisting of a minimum of two people (max of 4).

The aggregate of the best two points results from each team in each event will count to team series standings with the team's best 6 of 8 stages counting to the series.

A club may enter multiple teams but riders can only enter one team. You can add a team, add riders to your team or swap out unused riders in your team up to the beginning of the 3rd round.

Points

Points will be allocated by place using the USA Crit scoring mechanism.

Riders in sub-category (Over 45s ) will have points allocated in the same way for their own standings e.g. the first rider in category across the line finishes 5th in the open category and scores 175 points in the Open Series standings but 200 points in the Over 45’s standings for first place in the that category.

There is an open and Vets GC for all races in the series, as well as the same for best 5 of 8 stages. Ties in final series standings will be decided based on the best result in the final round that at least one of the tied riders competed in.

Signing up to eBioPassport.com with a public profile can help avoid conjecture by sharing data to validate your performances.
