NOTE FOR C/D/E GRADE RIDERS ONLY Tasmania – Sheffield The Sheffield Open graded handicap hosted by the Mersey Valley Devonport Cycling Club is held here every year. The course through mainly dairy farming country hosted the 2017 Australia junior Road Nationals and will host the 2022 Tasmanian State Titles. This loop course of 15kms (we’ve created a shorter 11km loop for CDE grade) is a tale in two parts. The first half of each lap has steady undulating roads toward a low point whilst the return has more spice with a series of sharp ascents, the second of which is a longer climb, with up to a 13% gradient. In our online event, the riders will complete 2 laps of the course. With a 500m downhill finish the bunch could be looking at each others previous down hill performances for drafting potential for the final sprint to the line.
